We have an user team looking at UC4 AM, if they buy it my dept will be responsible for the upkeep of its infrastructure, user management, security, setting standards and designing best practices.

So my first question is exactly how much Oracle knowledge is required to run UC4 AM with Oracle Financials?

My next question is how easily can it be integrated with other non-UC4 schedulers?

Thanks

Hi Maisy,

AM (a.k.a AppWorx) can be implemented and utilised with little knowledge of Oracle as it can automate scripts and exe's etc, as with other scheduling tools. An implementation of this nature would not see the tool used to its full potential though, a good working knowledge of PL/SQL is required to harness AM's automation capabilities.

AM has the ability to dynamically run PL/SQL and parse the information into events, thus it can be a highly advantageous skill-set where advanced job flows are required.

With regards to integration with non-UC4 schedulers, the answer is its only certified with UC4 OM. This is not to say its not possible though. AM ships with an array of command line utilities which allow events to be triggered by command line so its feasible to integrate depending on the level of integration you require.

Hope this helps.

Adrian
