Hi all,

Im interested to know whether anyone out there still uses Job Vision and if so to what degree?

Do you have it for a singular team or roll it out as an available utility for all AutoSys users?

CA renamed "JobVision" to "Job Visualization" and it is still sold (there is a r11.2 SP1 version). It works for JMO (the old unicenter scheduler) and Autosys.

I dont use it now but 10 years ago I trialed JobVision, sometime after Platinum acquired it and as CA were acquiring them. It was really great [compared to 1999 schedule design technology in general] but too expensive and had the bugbear of needing a Microsoft DB on my desktop machine [it didn't plug into Sybase/Unix back then].

By current standards the development drag/drop functionality provided by Job Visualization should be a standard part of the product and I can't imagine anybody paying for it.

I guess all its development functionality will eventually be absorbed in UWCC for Autosys (but not any help for JMO).

For serious JIL development, my teams has a good working knowledge of JIL which they code using a text editor, decent source control software and change control procedures. It's a lot cheaper and quicker to develop as raw code and leave the visualization to JobScape /Web Interface / UWCC / iXp / JAWS / iDash when loaded.
